WICHITA, Kan. - Ollie Schiederjans, 2014 Air Capital Classic exemption,  finished second with a 6-under 204 (71-65-68) in 54 holes at the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships Monday at Prairie Dunes Country Club. Schniederjans lost on the third hole of a sudden death playoff to Stanford's Cameron Wilson. 

A junior at Georgia Tech, Schniederjans earned his Air Capital Classic exemption byway of the United States Collegiate Championship in October. The Powder Springs, Ga., native is presently ranked third in Golfweek (collegiate individuals) and fourth in the world rankings. At the NCAA Raleigh Regional, Schniederjans finished second individually with a seven-under, 54-hole total (66-68-72-206).

Schniederjans was named “Player of the Mid-Season” by Golf World magazine, ACC Golfer of the Month in October and sits atop the rankings for the Palmer Cup released by the Golf Coaches Association of America. The junior had a 69.64 stroke average and five wins under his belt this season coming into the NCAA Championships. 

WICHITA, Kan. - Brock Mackenzie and Ollie Schiederjans have been named two of the four Air Capital Classic exemptions, it was announced today. A Seattle, Wash., native, Mackenzie won the exemption through the All-American Gateway Tour after winning two tournaments and finishing in the top-7 in all eight of his starts this year. Mackenzie was the runner-up in the final winter tournament on the All-American Gateway Tour, his second of the year, to take the top spot in the five tournament Points Race and the opportunity to make the trip back to Wichita.

“I’m excited to have earned a spot and am looking forward to returning to Wichita to play in this great event,” Mackenzie said.

A junior at Georgia Tech, Schniederjans earned the exemption byway of the United States Collegiate Championship in October. Schniederjans will be participating in the NCAA Raleigh Regional, which is set for May 15-17 at Lonnie Poole Golf Club in Raleigh, N.C.

The final two exemptions will be determined closer to the tournament.

Wichita, KS - The Air Capital Classic presented by Aetna is celebrating its 25th birthday this summer. The tournament is having a birthday party on Monday, April 21 at Crestview Country Club to celebrate this milestone, raise money for Jr. Golf and kick-off the 2014 tournament season.

The highlight of the evening will be the attendance by three past participants:

  • Ben Bates, 1997 Champion
  • Jeff Klauk, 2003 Champion
  • Josh Broadaway, one of the tournament's favorite players

A round of golf with each pro will be auctioned off that evening to be played the next morning.

The celebration is sponsored by partners of The Flint Hills Group at Morgan Stanley . Tickets will be $50 per person and can be purchased either online at, at the air Capital Classic office, or at Crestview Country Club.

The Air Capital Classic Tournament will make its return to Crestview this summer, June 19th through the 22nd.
